Inn at Whitewell Wedding

I recently photographed James and Frances wedding at Bracewell Church and afterwards at the amazing Inn at Whitewell. I seem to be a regular for wedding photographs at the Inn at Whitewell now and am on their preferred supplier list which is quite an honour. But what a fabulous venue!
James and Frances had a slightly damp day but we did manage to get outside and make the most of the view at Whitewell, although sadly the stepping stones were covered by the high water in the river!
Frances was a stunning bride and they made a very handsome couple. Here are a few images from the day:

Have been very busy with weddings at Mitton Hall and the Gibbon Bridge, then just as my weddings are finished until January, it has snowed today - so thank goodness it didn't do it when I had to get out for wedding photography. Yorkshire Dales Trip

Had a lovely trip out to Constable Burton Hall and Bedale for a wedding appointment. The wedding photography has been booked for next year and I'm really looking forward to photographing the couple in such lovely settings, although the weather will hopefully be warmer!

Progress is being made on our holiday cottage on the Isle of Skye; we are installing a new boiler this week, new double glazing, and a new kitchen and bathroom in March. We'll also have a website up and running soon.

Gibbon Bridge Wedding

Yet another wedding booking this week, this time for Gibbon Bridge at Chipping in July, which is excellent as Gibbon Bridge has wonderful gardens.
Mum is home from Blackburn Hospital and is doing well but as I am looking after her 24/7 there isn't much chance for taking photographs, however here are a few that I have managed in the past week.

Wedding Photography Bookings

Have taken a few wedding bookings recently in between visiting Mum in hospital. I'll be doing a wedding in Clitheroe and after at Samlesbury Hall at the end of January 2011, and a wedding in Kirkby Lonsdale and after in a marquee at High Biggins in June. I already have weddings booked for The Inn at Whitewell, Swinton Park at Masham, Mitton Hall, Eaves Hall, Bartle Hall, the West Tower Hotel in Aughton, and the Moorcock Inn, Waddington, amongst others, so it's looking like a busy and exciting year ahead.

Lots of work!

There's a lot of work coming in doing quotes for wedding photography later in the year and in both 2011 and 2012, so that's great news.
My Mum is in hospital with a broken hip but hopefully will be home before her 90th birthday on 7 February. She's doing well but it means I'm stretched to fit everything in, so there has been very little photography going on in the last day or so, however, here are a couple of images from last year to remind us that spring WILL arrive again soon.

Isle of Skye Holiday Cottage

We are currently doing up a cottage on the Isle of Skye which we will let out as a holiday cottage from April onwards. It has the most marvellous sea views and is totally peaceful. If you might be interested in renting the cottage out, it has 2 bedrooms, (1 king size bed, 1 twin room), a lounge with log burning stove, a brand new kitchen and a new bathroom. Here's a couple of images of where I live - the roads haven't been gritted or ploughed except by the local farmer since it started to snow on 18 december, so its a good job I have a 4x4, although even so there have been several days when we haven't been able to get out. We still can't use the road over the Cross of Greet to Bentham as that is about 3 feet of virgin snow and goes up to 1500 feet!

We had a wonderful morning on Saturday in the snow with Anthea & Andy Heron and their family. Their little girl, Lucy, was wonderful and looked marvellous in the snow in her red outfit!

I'll now be producing a framed A3 print from the shoot.

Have just booked to do a family portrait session in the snow this Saturday. The family are going to build a snowman and have snowball fights, so there should be some stunning images produced. What an opportunity this weather is giving, even if it is difficult to get out!

Have just completed the processing for a wonderful wedding at Samlesbury Hall where the bride was ankle deep in snow! Currently we have about 2 feet of snow at home near Slaidburn and have been unable to get out for a couple of days, which is very frustrating as I may have missed a shoot for commercial images for Ribble Valley Inns and Northcote Manor. However I have made up the time by being out in my boots in the woods taking shots of icicles and snowy trees.
